In the guest bath, we used an antique washstand, modified to accept a modern sink, for a vanity.

Old washstands are much shorter than modern vanities, since the washbowl used to sit
on the top, unlike a modern sink which sits in the top. So we built a platform of mahogany, trimmed with decorated tile.
