This project involved the complete replacement of a covered side porch on a beautiful 1910 home. The house itself had been meticulously restored by the owners over the past few years, and the sagging old porch was the last piece of the puzzle. The poor condition of the old structure required a complete replacement, subject to the approval of the Oley Township Historic Architecture Review Board. We designed a new porch that went a step further than the original, wrapping around the back corner of the house to transition into a new deck. Old world framing, including porch floor framing set on real brick piers and oversized Douglas fir beams and rafters were combined with modern, maintenance free materials (Tendura t/g planks, ProCell decking & fascia, Timbertech railing). The result is a beautiful outdoor living area that will last another hundred years.
